Biography:I live in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, at the foot of South Mountain, the largest municipal park in the country. If I hop on my bike, I can leave the metro area in 45 minutes and be into mountain foothills. I love these rides. I recently had cause to take a new route and visit a small tow East of Phoenix called Kearny. I rounded a corner on a twisty mountain road and I saw a raw mountaintop removal mine. I knew they were there, but I was dumbstruck with the devastation. I felt just a bit sick. It was surprisingly easy to find a satellite image. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en
